CHI 2020 values that many attendees are parents and caregivers and provide various options to support attendance at CHI 2020 by attendees with families, including a child pass, on-site childcare, and a nursing pod.

Please register for child care here. [Link will be activated here asap]

Child Pass

To provide access to the conference centre and to make your kids feel welcome at CHI 2020, we are including a $10 “child pass” for kids 0-14 to accompany their parents. This pass provides access to the convention centre and to the reception on Monday for children who are accompanied by their parents. All children that will be coming on site to the conference will require this pass, including those using childcare. We will use the child pass registrations to communicate information to parents. Attendees can register for a child pass on the CHI Registration site when they register themselves, or at any time thereafter, including on-site.

On-site Childcare

The advance registration deadline to guarantee a spot is April 17th, 2020. The on-site childcare program is subsidized by the CHI 2020 conference and its generous sponsors.

Childcare is provided by On The Go Mobile Event Childcare, a professional on-site childcare service for conferences and events. Children will have a large common room with toys, snacks, and on-site activities such as crafts, construction toys, tiny tikes toys, books. The On The Go Mobile Event Childcare team members are uniformed, qualified, screened, and experienced employees who have completed a childcare training program and background screening. On The Go Mobile Event Childcare offers childcare in English.

Childcare will be available from Monday, April 27 through Thursday, April 30 at the cost of $25/half a day USD or $50/full day USD. The hours of care will be during technical sessions, but not during the lunch break or evening networking events (see below). Reservation of childcare spots will be on a first-come first-served basis, and payment at the time of registration for childcare is required. Limited on-site registration for childcare may be available if there is still room after the 17th of April (registration deadline). Childcare is available for children 6 months to 12 years old.

Childcare hours are:
Monday April 27 – Thursday April 30
8:00am – 12:30pm; 1:30pm – 6:00pm

The CHI 2020 registration page will be used for attendees to indicate interest in childcare. On The Go Mobile Childcare will contact attendees to confirm childcare registration and set up payment.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide childcare during the weekend.

Nursing / Pumping Pod

CHI 2020 will provide a quiet, private nursing pod for feeding and changing. The Mamava Ada nursing pod will have two benches, outlets, and USB port, shelf, mirror and coat hook. The keycode for the nursing pod is available by downloading the Mamava App or using the HCC’s house phone (located next to the pod) and dial “0”. In addition to the Mamava nursing pod there will be a Nursing Room (321AB, next to childcare, Monday – Thursday), there will be tables, chairs, fridge, and kettle or microwave.

The nursing pod will be available throughout the conference from Saturday, April 25 to Thursday, April 30. The Nursing Room is available Monday, April 27 to Thursday, April 30.

Other Childcare Options

We inquired for child care options at our contracted hotels, but unfortunately, none are offering similar services. There also may be attendees interested in doing babysitting swaps – please check the HCI parent Facebook group for more information.
